Hi Everyone,

This site will help bring guidance on the proper steps to reach your desired weight and, ultimate fitness level, while increasing your self-esteem using a process I like to call the 3 in 1 process. As a personal trainer, these are the hurdles I get my clients to overcome in order for them to gain success.

Not Losing Weight, find out why

Not losing weight and trying to figure out why can be simple. The First thing you should know is there isn’t just one way to lose weight, and losing weight isn’t easy. It, takes time. So, I have put together a simple mathematical equation to help you with this process.

·          The equation is: “mindset + resistance training + cardio + diet= Results”.

“What does this mean?” You ask and “what type of results will I get?” I will explain.

Having the proper mindset is absolutely necessary in assuring that you have success on your path to better health and fitness.  Here is a roundabout definition of mindset: an attitude, disposition, mood, inclination, or intention.

·          Have you put yourself in the right mindset?

·          I will take this point further. Have you planned for your success?

·          Do you know what course of action you are going to take and what is a realistic time frame to achieve it?

when you want to lose weight you should take the business building approach. All successful businesses plan 1yr, 5yrs, and 10 yrs in advance to increase their chance of success. Have you planned how many weeks or months it will take you to achieve your goals? If the answer to any of these questions is no, then how do you plan to lose weight.

If your not losing weight, I want to ask you are you doing everything its takes? This next part of the equation is, resistance training (or (RT) for short). I have this listed second in the equation because many people have a fear of what this is and the changes it can have on their bodies, but I feel that without RT, you will always fall short of your goal; losing bad weight (body fat), while bettering your overall look. RT is basically doing exercise in a manner that requires your muscles to work against an opposing force. The following are two examples of RT: push ups:   you are using your arms to lift your body off the ground, and step ups: you are using one leg to lift your bodies on to a bench. RT is important because of the full use of your body’s range of motion, and remember, the amount of resistance used will determine the size and shape of your muscles. There are over 600 muscles in the body, and the only way to work them is through proper R T. If you are not working them properly, then this can partly answer the question, why am I not losing weight.

To lose weight fast many people feel cardio is king. This notion has made Cardio is my nemesis. Please do not mistake what I am saying, I do not hate cardio, In fact, I was a sprinter in college and I still run today. My issue with cardio, is the mentality that cardio is the end all be all. The idea that all you have to do is get on the treadmill, elliptical, or Stair master for hours at a time and you will definitely get the results you are looking for. In my estimation 90% of the time you are wrong, if not more. Cardio should complement your workout. It should have a specific time that the workout will take, distance to be traveled, and the amount of days it will be repeated in relation to your R T. The workouts should also vary or you will be upset with your lack of results as time passes.

When searching for ways to lose weight,Dieting is always a huge concern but necessary. I have listed this as the last part of the equation because out of everything, this causes the most problems. When trying to setup a proper diet, it is hard to figure out what foods to eat or how many calories you should be taking in to get the best results. If you add in the fact that you are a social bug on the weekends and like to have a drink or 2 or 3 or 4, your diet gets tossed out the window. I wish I had an easy answer but I have found that the best diet is the one that is flexible and can be adjusted, so that if you get side tracked, you can get right back on. I also found that those of you who listen to your friends about what they’re doing and not finding what your body needs, also falling short of your goals. So in order to answer the question,” Why am I not losing weight”, when it come to dieting, I suggest you follow a plan that gives you meal portion sizes so that you know how much food you’re eating and the amount of calories you are taking in.

In the end, the part that matters most is your results. So, let’s back track. In order to get results you need the proper mindset or plan. Since you have read this far, I know you are in the proper mindset. Earlier I said, using a 3 in 1 process will bring you ultimate success. By using a program that combines resistance training, cardio, and a great diet plan you will get results.
